Let’s be real - raise your hand if you fell asleep with mascara on last night. We all do it, no shame. The ugly truth is that our eyes are probs one of the most delicate areas on our bodies, and by not cleaning the skin and hair surrounding them at the end of the day we’re introducing the risk of product buildup, bacterial infections, and increased breakage and shedding of your lashes. EEK! No thanks, babe.

C’mon bestie, let’s give ourselves and our lashes the love we deserve and learn how to take our makeup off the Babe way, and why we should do this extra step every night to get the most out of our lash routine.

The Easy How-To

What You Need:

  • Warm water
  • Eye makeup remover (not just wipes)
  • Cotton pads or a clean cloth
  • Face cleanser
  • Q-tips

What to Do:

  1. Splash some warm water onto your face, taking care to moisten your lash area. Turn off the water once your lashes feel damp.
  2. Take your eye makeup remover and moisten a cotton ball with it.
  3. Place the saturated cotton pad onto your closed eyelid and gently press it into your eyelashes. Let it sit on your lashes for a few seconds before gently wiping downward a few times to remove the mascara.* (Really let the makeup remover sit on your lashes to create less friction when wiping.)
  4. Rinse your face again. Gently wipe your closed eyelids and eyelashes with clean hands.
  5. Use your fav face cleanser and cleanse your face as usual.
  6. If there’s any mascara left at the base of your eyelashes, use a Q-tip with makeup remover to gently remove any additional product from your lashes and lids.
  7. Pat your face dry with a clean towel.
  8. Finish your lash care for the night with a swipe of Essential Serum or Enhancing Conditioner onto your spotless lash-line.

*Depending on the mascara, you may need to repeat steps 1-3 to fully remove your mascara and any other makeup products you have on your eyes. Waterproof mascara will take a couple passes and some patience, but the Babe Lash Enriching or Volumizing mascara will glide off with one cycle of steps 1-3.

This is our tried-and-true method for saying good-bye to bacteria, build-up, and environmental debris and making our lash lines and skin a clean slate to kick off our evening skincare routines, starting with a swipe of our treatments. Do you use a diff method or have any questions? Sound off below or send us a DM, we love hearing from yall!
