Hot Babe Summer
By now, you’ve heard of “hot girl summer.” Introduced by singer Megan Thee Stallion, and popularized by countless internet memes, the term “hot girl summer” has since taken on a life of its own. For some, it’s a feminist war cry, while for others, it’s a piece of topical humor.
Babe Lash wants to join the “hot girl summer” fun this year - we’re calling it Hot Babe Summer (see what we did there?). Babe Lash is redefining what it means to be a hot babe during Hot Babe Summer.
Why “Hot Babe?”
Well, we are Babe Lash. But we like the term Babe because anyone can be a babe. Babe is genderless. It’s a term of endearment for friends, family, loved ones, and even strangers.
At Babe Lash, celebrating originality and authenticity is a core value. We know it’s not always easy to be an original Babe, but we want to help you fearlessly be yourself. So, even though you may feel like you lack the confidence to take on Hot Babe Summer, we’re here to help you with this easy Hot Babe Summer Guide.
Hot Babe Pep Talk
We’re about to drop some profound truth on you: you are intelligent and attractive, and you can overcome anything you set your mind to - unfortunately, you’ve probably been told, or at least felt, otherwise during your life.
There is a long and sad history regarding individuals’ confidence, dating back hundreds of years. Although a lot has changed over the years, many long-held beliefs still permeate day-to-day life and how people are treated. If we ever want to see these attitudes change, we need to work together to throw out old stereotypes and promote confidence for everyone.
A History of Insecurity
It’s hard to say when precisely behaviors surrounding shame and insecurity began, but it’s safe to say that it has been going on for thousands of years. And in recent years, it has become even more prominent.
Over the years, we all have been subjected to intense societal pressures regarding appearance, personality, hobbies, etc. Unfortunately, I’m not sure anyone is exempt from these pressures and the subsequent insecurities they cause.
Don’t Let Society Tell You Otherwise
As the temperatures rise and clothing becomes more revealing during the summer months, people often become insecure about their “beach body.”
It’s not hard to see where these insecurities came from when tabloids still spotlight celebrities for having slight weight fluctuations. Seeing these celebrities who are idolized for their talents become reduced to nothing more than their body shape is disheartening to see, creating widespread insecurity.
Many of these magazines also feature articles for new weight loss and diet trends. Why? Because the diet and weight management industry is valued at over $192 billion a year. Having people feel insecure is good for their business. Remember, there’s nothing wrong with you. Society has just told you that you should be unsure about your body.
So, if no one has told you, or if you need a reminder - the only thing you need to have a “beach body” this summer - is a body. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. So, wear your swimsuit, put on shorts, or rock a sleeveless outfit. You should wear whatever you want.
Self-Confidence is Learned
Humans mirror the things they see. That’s why trends exist. However, this mirroring effect extends beyond trends, with humans learning their belief systems and personalities from those they interact with regularly. This human reaction is why children typically wholeheartedly believe and adhere to the beliefs of their guardians. Our environment molds us.
So, what can we do to help others learn self-confidence, especially at a young age? Furthermore, how can we retrain adult brains to view themselves in a positive light?
Since we all learn by watching each other, it’s up to us to promote positivity. We need to be more gentle and uplifting, and we need to be more kind to ourselves. Positivity is contagious. If you always set a good example to friends and family that you like who you are and are grateful for the body you have, the people around you will notice and feel empowered to try that for themselves. The opposite is true, too. Your actions and comments hold power.
We also mirror interactions we see when someone gives another person a sincere compliment. But rather than shrugging off a well-meaning compliment, we recommend accepting it and passing kind words to another person as well.
So, the next time someone tells you that you are talented at something you do, take that compliment with pride - you earned it! If a friend comments, “You’re pretty,” on an Instagram photo, you don’t have to deflect the positivity. It’s okay to say, “Thank you! I think you’re amazing, too!” And if you’re not ready to fully embrace doing that alone, you can always tag us and say, “@babe_lash told me I had to accept your compliment.” We will gladly be your hype crew!
But the more you show confidence to people in your circle, the more you help break down societal insecurity and teach future generations to embrace the things that make them unique.
Being unashamedly confident is a big part of Babe Lash and is an essential aspect of Hot Babe Summer. Unfortunately, as many research campaigns (like the ones from Dove) have shown, most people don’t see themselves positively, so we are taking it upon ourselves to help everyone reclaim their confidence.
During Hot Babe Summer, we invite you to join Babe Lash on a journey of self-growth, self-confidence, and the promotion of confidence for those around you.

Anyone can participate in Hot Babe Summer. All you need to do is be your original self. You deserve to be confident and authentic this summer (and year-round, but we’ll start with summer).

During Hot Babe Summer, do the things that make you happy to be alive. Practice self-care. Wear as much or as little makeup as you want. Whether you’re going full-glam or just putting on a little Plumping Lip Jelly as you run out the door, you’re not wrong!
Hot Babe Summer is your time to live, be happy, and make the most of this fun season. Don’t hold back. Don’t let the haters tell you what you can or can’t wear or what you should or shouldn’t do. So long as what you do isn’t hurting anyone and makes you happy, you should go for it!
We also encourage you to be a light to those around you. As you grow and choose happiness, help your friends and family members do the same. Lead by example and get other people excited about living life.
